The garage sale at Church was a huge success. We had donations coming out the wahzoolie...and quite a bit of it sold.
On Thursday evening, someone asked if the could donate a Kitchenaide stand mixer. None of the "Marthas" wanted to put it out for sale as it was now "half price" time.
They started thinking "who would want this?" and a litany of names started flowing. "No, she's got one," was the general response.
"I'll buy it," I said.
You could have heard a pin drop.
"Well," I explained, "I have a rug shampooer in my living room -- it makes it look like I clean." (And Connie any time you want it back -- I know you don't have carpet right now -- I'll deliver it back to you.) "So," I continued, "I'll toss this on the counter and people will think I cook!"
Blank stares.
So I bought that dang deal and brought it home. This morning I arose early. Well I arose stiffly. I came down and make oven baked pancakes (like a regular cake made out of pancake batter -- we ate this at Deep Portage), I cooked bacon and made a big breakfast. I mixed the pancake mix in my new stand mixer. I had everything cleaned up before the pancake was even out of the oven.
It was a huge success. A 9 x 13 pan of pancakes disappeared in a flash. Chip wasn't psyched -- he couldn't get the concept that it does taste just like a real pancake -- but he'll come aboard.
